Searching

In CardCat you do either a Keyword search or a Begins With search. A keyword search looks for the terms you entered anywhere. You can also limit the search to a particular field such as the title field. With keyword searching you can combine terms by using Boolean operators (i.e. AND, OR and NOT). For more on Boolean operators see Ready Set Research Unit 5 The Search Box.

A Begins With search retrieves a list of records beginning with the words entered. Use this option when searching by author, title, and periodical title.

Whether you do a Keyword or Begins With search, there is no need to use capitalization or punctuation.
